Wink Importing mpeg files into Premiere Pro

    Hi Folks,
I've been ripping some vob files to mpeg using VOB2MPG v3, then dropping them into Encore and encoding them to .flv for use on a website.
Then I came across one I needed to edit and so I dropped it into Premier (CS3) but when I put it on the timeline the video appeared but no audio.
The same file can be imported into Encore as an asset (timeline) and has both video and audio.
The output from VOB2MPG has an extension .mpg but there is obviously something different about it because I have since noticed that these files have no sound when played in Windows Media Player, but are perfectly OK in Nero Showtime, Intervideo WinDVD etc.
Any ideas please? Try it for yourself, VOB2MPG is a freebie.

If so you may need AC3 filter. (Free download)

    Hi Folks,
The DVD audio was LPCM and VOB2MPG allows you to use that or force the output to AC3.
I've tried both and got the same results.

Womble is ideal for tidying up MPEGs (top/tail/joint) - no re-compression.

Unlike the "Pro" version Premiere Elements will import almost anything, edit as required and re-encode.

There is an MPEG plug-in for Premiere Pro (I think) but I haven't used it.
