Surprised this hasn't been posted before. Ideal for fun, practice or just messing about! (Footage is 24p but again ideal to practice your conversion methods if you want 25fps)

Framelines (www.framelines.tv) presents an interactive online editing exercise. Download all the footage and sound FX and create your own edit of a Car Chase. Use the clips we are providing to create your very own unique action scene, using your own editing software. There are a million ways to take the same footage and put it together. Feel free and show us your edit! This is royalty free footage that anyone can use and publicly display. Put your edit online with our permission!

A cracking idea - I won't be participating, but should be an inspiration for many - thanks for posting!

Do not follow, I may not lead. Do not lead . . . I may not follow.

Brilliant, I may have a go at this as it's not something you get to do every day.

The only problem being that the footage of the 'car chase' is neither fast or exciting. More of a shopping trip and even the attempts of the camera man zooming in and out don't give it any 'feel'. It seems that the American speed limit is a little too restrictive.

.....and therein lies the skill of an editor. They have their own finished edit, produced from the all footage available to you - not sure of the link you'll have to look for it - it's certainly not slow paced!

Yes it is there Dave but I have seen that but in my humble opinion (thinking in "Bullitt mode" car chase) it's not all that hot. - I'll still have a pop at it though.

Quite an amusing and interesting little project.  My editor wouldn't read some of their 1080 footage but it was a bit of fun.

Thanks for the link Dave. yes

when I started with NLE, it was Media 100 and the system came with a tutorial to follow that had a documentary on wildlife, and the raw footage plus extras.
You had to use the footage to re-edit the footage to make the documentary, and hopefully use the tools to do so.

I don't know if othersystems came/come with similar, because once I'd got my head around NLE I kind of busked it.

Yep, did that one with Media 100 (1994/5?) and The "Lindy Hop" with FCP (2001) wink

We had to edit in small chunks.
