sony dcr-pc103e on a Mac with no Firewire [new model]

Hi There,
 
i have got a:
iMac13,1 - Intel Core i5 - 2,9 GHz
 
And these models dont have a firewire.... so i boght a i-link to USB cable. but iMovie 11 can't see my camera a sony dcr-pc103e
 
Anybody have an idee?

i-Link to USB seems a new one to me.  Maybe you've been done.

The iLink to USB cables on Ebay etc are a useless item - with luck it won't cause any damage to your computer.
 
Apple sell official Thunderbolt to Firewire adapters - they aren't too expensive and work perfectly.

Mulder no need to feel stupid. However it does give me a chuckle whenever I see people on forums complaining about the lack of FW on new Mac's. ;-)
