Not strictly a problem with with AVM but when previewing in MSP5.2, powerplay sometimes (mostly!) comes up with the error
'Powerplay error (10001/106)'
Does anyone know what this means please? Powerplay in fastcap works fine every time as did MSP5.02

First of all, make sure you have installed the correct drivers to use with Media Studio 5.2. For Windows 98 it is version 2.5_0019 and for Windows NT it is 2.5 for NT. Do not install PowerPlay separately - PowerPlay is included in the drivers now. The drivers should be installed AFTER Media Studio. Also, make sure you have not got FAST Cap and MSP open at the same time.

Many thanks for the reply - all ok with the drivers etc but! if I try to load fastcap and MSP together an error pops up saying a module needed for powerplay is in use by another program ie Fastcap - should this happen?

Hi Mike

I`ve encountered the same problem and came to the conclusion that you cannot run Fastcap & MSP 5.2 at the same time.
As you see there is a fight over the module.
I have also found that for powerplay to work correctly in MSP 5.2 I have to run Fastcap first & then close it.
Whether or not that is the way it should work I have my doubts. H
opefully the man at Fast will tell us.

Hi Del

Running Fastcap first did appear to help, I decided over the weekend to do a clean reinstall but with W98SE together with the DV update and things do appear to be better (Apart from the fact that i cannot get the computer back on my network, but thats another story). I have also found out that my motherboard uses the ALI chipset with AMD K6-II/400 which was not too good with AVM apparently.

Many thanks for the reply BTW.
