have tried 'freebies' with undesirable consequences ! The windows burner says it'll play on external player - but does not.
Am willing to pay.
Which is the least expensive that you'll recommend please.
I Just pop em all on as jpegs and they'll all play fine from DVD/CD
Thanks Branny but

Re: Burning stills to CD for play on DVD/CD player (not pc)
I Just pop em all on as jpegs --- POP EM on What ????
Onto a CD! DOH
Thanks Barry !!!!!
I want to know the best software to' acquire' that will quarantee that the resultant CD (with photos on) will not only
play on pc but is playable on my 2 Panasonic Recorder/Players.
Up till now, each one I've produced has been 'unplayable' through my tv.
Yes, I am using brand new, good quality CD's and have 'wasted' quite a few !
Can you help please
Hmmm I use Nero which came built into my pc software. I just find the folder with the images I need, then drag across and burn. They'll always play in a DVD/CD providing they're not massive files.
Alternatively, buy some slideshow software, I use Pro show producer but this is used for more polished displays, adding music, titles, effects etc.
Just a thought, are you finalising your cd/dvd?
What software have you tried?
Two EXCELLENT questions!
If the discs aren't finalised, they won't play on anything apart from the original PC.
As for software - if we know that, we'll probably be able to deduce if the discs are being finalised.
IMGBurn (a freebie) works well for me.
Some TV's will not play jpeg images.
Check your TV.
Looks like I've now got the answer that I was looking for from Bob C.
I'll give IMGBURN a try and let you know.
Yes I do of course finalise to play on DVD/CD through TV
Have recently downloaded Trial of Nero 14 but it limits te amount that you can burn & is too complex for me.
Yes, my 'Smart Pannie TV' has no trouble handling jpegs.
Many thanks to you all for your contributions
Although the question was asked earlier, in a different way, do you know if your TV & Player supports the playing of JPEGS? Have you been able to ever play them? Have you got a pal maybe who has created a disc that will play on your system?
It`s possible that your equipment isn`t suitable therefore this needs to be check first.
Cracked my problem & Fergie had it right afterall !
All 3 of my player/recorders are Panasonic and although they'll play jpegs, they will not play them as photo CD's
Have now overcome this by creating a 'slideshow' with crossfades onto DVD.
Once again, thanks everyone, particularly Fergie who 'hit the nail on the head'
Panasonic owners beware !
Glad you found a work around! However, I have a Panasonic BlueRay player & as I explained to you during our 40min phone call, where you burned a CD & I did the same, it worked fine on my system so my feeling is that it still could be a setting thing! Did you contact Panasonic?
intended to explain on phone but no response.
Many many thanks for your help & further interest. I took my disc through to neighbour with Samsung player/recorder.
He was able to 'extract' individual files, they were slow but showed ok.
Together we inspected the Operating Instructions of my Panasonic Blu-ray model SC-BTT490.
On page 8 it says it'll play JPEGS
BUT on page 9 , under small heading ' Discs that cannot be played by this unit '
it lists Photo CD's ( amongst others )
Similarly in the Op.Inst. for my Panasonic model DMR-EX79EB !!
This was discovered last night so thought that if I contacted Panasonic with my problem they'd say
" have you read the smallprint" !!!!
I'll contact you for your further thoughts,
Thanks, we`re away celebrating eldest daughter`s 40th
My Pani 'DMR EX83' Will quite happily play back jpegs both from CD disc and via the built in SD card reader.
That could not be done with my previous TV set, a Bush, that was not capable of showing jpeg images.
I also failed to get success from my 'Pannie' player through my other tv, which is a Sony !
The common factor seems to be the Panasonic DVD player/recorders !
