Im working on a video project at the moment, which I want to make look like the music video 'like a rolling stone' the rolling stones (michel gondry.)
I dont want to create the 3d look of it I want to re create the morphing part of it.
in the video parts of the pic morph but the bacground stays the same, which gives a wired look to it dose any one have any idears on how this was created?.

Hi Stoo,
Haven't seen that video for a while (don't have VH1!!), but from what I can remember I think it was probably shot with stills cameras. If the background seemed to stay the same then one camera was being used to shoot however many frames per second. If the girl was frozen but the background was spinning around her then a multi-camera rig was probably used (as in "matrix bullet-time").
After all that comes the morphing bit - from still 1 to still 2, from 2 to 3...best done in a compositing programme such as After Effects - if you've got it then download a demo of ReFlex from a company called Revisionfx. It's a bit pricey, but seeing it in action might give you more of an idea of how to achieve the same thing on a budget - seems to be a mixture of a warp and dissolve.
