There an MTV video (track unknown)featuring George Michael and a female singist(?) in a nightclub which has been released in the last 18months (?).The video shows multiple images of GM and the Girl singing the song and all the guests in the club are GM and the girl who take over the song as the camera tracks and pans - How did they do that? anyone else seen it? simple explanations only please

I think you mean the song George Michael is singing with Mary J Blige.
I can only imagine that the whole camera rig was on a motion control unit that was programmed to repeat the same route through the set time after time, with exactly the same camera moves. Then, after they've shot multiple passes of George and Mary, they painstakingly stitch parts of each shot together.
They might have shot the singers on a bluescreen set and then done a pass in an empty dressed set. This would probably be easier to compose in post-production.
But then I'm just guessing http://www.dvdoctor.net/cgi-bin/ubb/smile.gif

That's the one - everytime I see it I end up with a scrambled brain trying to figure out the moves, I figured out it may be layered but to watch it uh uh
