Hi,

Just a novice finding my feet with my Pana NVDS27B and Firewire card in my PC.

OK, I'm using the VirtualDub software (freeware) which I like for both it's price and the fact that it doesn't try to do too much. I have got the Capture to work at last after upgrading to windows 2000.

However, when I capture video, the resulting AVI is slow motion - suggesting to me a frame rate issue.

I captured at 15 fps and I had assumed that the playback would look normal.

Do I have to capture at the same fps as my camcorder - if so what is this FPS and can I expect to be able to do it with my PC.

It's a duron 700, 640MB mem.

Thanks

Morgan

Framerate in the uk is 25fps , PAL.

Your pc should be up to it.

Ah, in that case I do have to capture at the same frame rate as the source video.

I'll give it another go at 25fps and see what happens. I did notice that I was getting a few dropped frames occuring and the occasional breakdown where chunks of magenta and green appear in the odd frame or three.

Thanks for the suggestion.

Morgan:
You have to look out to keep the frame rate in the capture the same as the frame rate in the playback. If you donīt, speed never will be equals.
NTSC works with 30fps, PAL works with 25fps.
Do your captures in that frame rate and then use Premiere or similar to render your movie in 15 or 12 fps to get multimedia streams.
Carlos.
