Need a camera that can basically do anything for me. Be easy to use. Shoot at the drop of a hat and look and sound great at any level. Can anyone give me a rundown of the top three for under 10000.00??

Under ten kay on a camera alone? Sony HDCam HD PDW-F330L would keep you happy for a few years. Lens of your choice is extra, of course.

Actually I suspect that the new XDCam EX1 will deliver better results than the F330. The only thing that'll count in the F330's favour is the shoulder mount design.

is TN Tennessee?

if so then his figure of X10,000 is actually £5,000 or so - knocking off 20/25% for the mics etc.

Maybe an EX would be best as the $/£ would probably allow him to get it for £4k with the change spent on mics headphones etc.

Less, I believe, I've heard that the EX can be had for about $6,500 in the US - £3,135.18 according to the online currency calculator. (Can you really get over $2.07 per £ at the moment!?)

The EX records 1920x1080 4:2:0 imaged from 1920x1080 resolution sensors while the F330 records 1440x1080 downsampled from a 1920x1080 4:2:0 interpolated image derived from 1440x1080 sensors. The EX should theoretically records slightly sharper images.

In addition, I believe the live HD-SDI out on the EX is truely 4:2:2 while on the F330 it is upconverted from the 4:2:0 image and so it should be easier to get a key off the EX by recording from HDSDI direct to HDD.
