Following Gary Fenton's article on Blender in the October issue of CV, I've spent a couple of days playing with it.

It is impressive but the interface is a nightmare to use at first.

My question is how to make text 3d. The article mentions using the 'bevel control buttons' but I haven't managed to find any

Hows about a clue ?

I also have a copy of Amapi Studio 3, which I've never used. Anyone care to comment on which is best.

I've also had lots of fun playing with this programme, though I agree with you about the user interface, especially the load and save routines.

To bevel or 3D your text, select it, then press the EDIT button (that's the little square with yellow dots at the corners. A new set of buttons will appear at the bottom of the screen, including the bevel controls (lower right).

I've been trying to animate a walking figure by using an lpo cycle for the limb movements and then moving the whole figure across the screen, but the various body parts just separate from each other when I try to do it. I'm convinced that the answer lies in the dx, dy and dz lpo parameters, but can't work out how to do it.
Has anyone else worked out how to use these while using the cycle function for x, y & z?
