November issue on sale in the shops,no sign of the subscription issue
I always thought that was the purpose of subscribing to have the
current monthly issue delivered before it was on general sale not
after it was OLD news.

Apologies to folk who found their mags on their doormats after they'd seen the Nov issue on sale in shops.

As best as I can make out, this is why the mag late going out to subscribers:

Well, it seems that the following happened - Computer Video and a bunch of other magazines were late passing for press.

I know why CV was late, but I don't know about the others - the reasons will vary from mag to mag, but it was the case that a lot of mags finished late.

The upshot is that our subs house, which, like everyone else, plans for work to be spread evenly, had virtually no issues to send out for a period of about a week (or more) and then a whole bunch of issues arriving on its doorstep all at once.

They didn't hire extra staff to do the job (we'd prpbably not have have repaid the costs involved if they had, mind), so they just got down to the job of getting the issues out of the door as soon as possible.

It may not make the problem any more palatable, but I think it does explain why it happened.

I'd love to be able to say that it won't happen again, but in matters such as this, all I can do is try to ensure that CV finishes on time - and that is something I've always tried to do.
