View Full Version : CV Mag competition/article idea?

I've just finished my first Motorsport Video. I'm not a Pro producer, but I thoroughly enjoyed learning throughout the project.

I'd now like to try something with actors, just to learn what's involved with camera positions creating atmosphere, and music and stuff like that.

Maybe CV Mag could write a script that would be ideal for a short 5 minute scene, that allows plenty of interpretation and diversity. Being 5 mins long, people will be able to upload it to websites and everyone will be able to view each others' creations and see how different they all are. As a follow up, CV could critique various methods, and create a fascinating series of articles...

Don't forget to write it with maybe 3 actors max, and simple scenery that will make it a virtually zero budget shoot!

Whaddayouthink?

Chris.

P.S. This seems such a good idea, I think I ought to say Copyright Chris Coulson 1999.....(Just in case I should!)

This could be a lot of fun, maybe set up as a small "short film festival" with a deadline and a time limit to each movie. Could be published on the cover CD people seem to want!

Just thought I would throw in my two-penneth worth.
Going along the same lines but slightly different, how about this for a CV competition.
Choose two (very available) music tracks, one classical eg.1812 Overture and one rock eg. Lust for Life. Then set a time limit of say 1 month and ask people to make a music video with any subject they like.
That's it.You leave the complete interpretation of a music video to whoever want's to take part and at the end put the top three on the site/or cover disc to be voted for.CV chooses the music so that it's fair across the board and the finished videos can either be sent to you on tape/CD or mailed to the website.
Well that's my suggestion.
