I have just read in the current issue in a preview of MGI Videowave 2 that it is able to encode MPEG-2 - is this correct - I am new to MPEG.

No, you read that it is **claimed** to be able to do that.

We've not yet received the final version, so until we've got it in our hands, I'm saying no more.
