I'm just curious if anyone has managed to fit both a radio mic & a HD recorder to their Z1 camera?
At present I'm fitting the radio mic to the shoe, but would also like to fit the new Sony recorder to the camera.
Cheers,
James - TVC.

might also be worth trying B-Hague they do lots of this type of stuff and will do one offs as well.

Thanks Nick.
I quite like the offset bracket, which would seem to allow me to fit both the receiver and dr60 to the top.

James, Mitcorp had a video equipment show in Edinburgh last week and they had an Z1 (and others) fitted with a radio mike up front and a HD on the rear. Mitcorp have offices in Glasgow so new equipment can be seen and tried first.

Couldn't resist it for £20 inc' p&p from the states. I'll let everyone know if it was worth it, or a waste of money as soon as it arrives.

This is worth every single penny I've spent.
It's so light & compact that it doesn't make any initial difference to how the camera feels or what it weighs. You can tuck your XLR cable away, and mount an HD recorder on the now available shoe.
The only downside I can see at the moment is that after fitting the tripod plate, situated near the back, it may become a little front heavy. This may be especially true when fully loaded and using something like a Fig Rig for a prolonged period of time.
However, it did only cost around £20 and solved many problems whilst perhaps only creating a slight annoyance. It has a nice black finish, which blends in with the Z1 and won't make you look like a 'twat' at any festive gatherings. :D

if you need to change the centre of gravity of the camera then maybe Hague can sort you out a small bar that will relocate a tripod bush further backward.
some photographic flash bars do the same thing. All you need is a small plate with an offset hole and the right threaded bolt.
The Fig Gig does have a sliding plate anyway. Isn't it enough?

It's nothing I can't live with Dave, and it fits fine onto the Fig Rig. It's just that it would be slightly better with the center of gravity being about an inch backwards.
