It does, I wonder if it will capture decompressed HDV from a HVR-25E?

Looks as if the input has to be hdmi however so won't work with firewire input eg A1

That's what I meant: HDMI out from a HVR-25 (or FX7, or V1?) into the HDMI input on this card?

Hi
That's exactly the point of it - and out to an HDMI HD screen - at an affordable cost :)

So is this likely to work OK (assuming you have a machine+storage with bandwidth) to edit uncompressed (or minimally compressed) HD?
And hooking up an HD screen via HDMI will give you an interlaced HD monitor during the edit as well?
All at an amazingly low price?

All at an amazingly low price?Hi
Thats what BlackMagic have always done - sell tiny printed circuit boards with a few chips on, at an appropriately low price. ;)
All you need to add is the high-spec computer and the even higher spec disk sub-system and monitoring capability - does anyone make interlaced HDMI monitors.....
No doubt OS X Leopard and FCP 6 will allow this card to use the power of the GFX card to give HDV real-time etc as well as the DVCProHD/uncompressed it will do at the moment.

OK, I meant a display capable of displaying 1080i with HDMI input.... preferably at relatively low cost, suitable for a struggling wedding videographer..... such as an HD-ready TV?
Edit: Coo! Maybe a choice of DVCProHD or HDV output in realtime? Very interesting times ahead...
