Hello everyone, my name is James and I own a few smoking glamour / smoking fetish websites, called www . smoking-models . com and www . smokeymouths . com

There is something I want to do for a new website but I can not figure out how I would do it, I need to take girls to a bar and nightclub and film them smoking without anyone knowing. Is there a way that I can do this?

I had 2 ideas of how it may be possible:

1. A camcorder so small it can easily be hidden like you see on tv programmes.

2. Somehow modify the camcorder so the wire to the lens is longer and can be hidden while the base is held from below.

I know these seem a bit extreme but I desperately need to do this desperately for a new website I am going to launch soon.

I thought I would ask you guys as you are pro's in the camcorder field.

Thankyou for reading and I hope to hear from you soon.

Regards James

James,

For covert shooting, the most practical way is to use a lipstick camera that is fed into the analogue inputs on a DV camera. Try Maplin electronics for a range of cameras from small pinhole modules up to cased security CCTV devices. Cameras such as the Sony HC96 have analogue AV inputs. The camera can by secreted in a coat pocket or a handbag.

(I assume that it's the filming you want to do "without anytbody knowing"!)

You'l have trouible with quality as the lighting will be low. Most surveilance cameras work in B&W when the light drops. I assume that it's dark in there.

Something like a Sony PD150 in a bag would get you decent low light pix.

Optex used to sell good undercover stuff. Production Gear are the former employees and both sell and rent if you're in London or the south east

Also Gearhouse have ex-Optex staff and do such things.

There's a "spy" shop in London, on a corner in New Bond Street, that sells all sorts of clever little bits of kit.
