Pretty packages

I've had my new computer for three months during which time I've managed (struggled would be a better word) to put together a 25min. documentary with musical backing. I now need to make 50/60 copies. Presumably I just have to download from the computer to a VHS recorder - I can't copy back to a DV Camera cos I don't have one!
What I'd like to know is, is there a ready-made, easy to follow software programme that will allow me to make a cover sleeve using picture(s) and text to put in the plastic video cases? I'd like it to look as professional as possible.
I've been able to capture some transparency film using a slide/negative scanner made by Jessops and I also have an Epson Perfection 601 Scanner and a HP DeskJet 950C Printer.
The computer came loaded with Presto Page Manager and Adobe Photo Deluxe Home Edition 3.0. I also have Ulead PhotoExpress 2.0 SE and Microsoft WorkSuite 99. However, I've spent so long making my film using Avid Cinema that I haven't had time to find out what the rest of my software - or my computer for that matter - is capable of.
All help would be much appreciated.

Photodelux is a very basic version of big brother Adobe Photoshop - so well not in the same league you should be able to put togther a cover sleeve with it. Although I have not used Photodelux (I also got a copy with my 610 but it is unopened due to photoshop) I offer a few basic pointers: The scan that you have made needs to be of high enough resolution to make a suitable print. A rough guide would be 300dpi (dpi = dots per inch) at 100% of the final size. So you need to scan your transparency at 300dpi at roughly the size of the cover sleeve. Take that image into Photodelux and add Text etc and save your new image. This is a good time to get to grips with another package - its worth the effort, you don't want that video spoilt by a poor looking cover. I assume that you are using a PC - so Corel Draw would be a consideration if you plan to do lots of this kind of thing. But check out your existing software first.

The drawing program called Visio is very good for making video box jackets, CD jewel case inserts and a whole range of multimedia-related print objects. You have to design you own templates, but the tools, the calibration and the print accuracy are very good.

Thanks Steve and Ray for your helpful advice. I'll see what I can accomplish using Photo Deluxe and keep my eyes open for Corel Draw and Visio.
