These people seem to be doing a good deal, no?
Has anyone dealt with them?

The site says £1314.78 with import duties and VAT.
This is around £350 less than I paid for the A1E but does it have the same Sony Silver guarantee?

It's £1 more than I paid at the Forum, H.Preston.

And you may need to enquire about the warranty - whether Sony themselves will honour this. I believe it's an "out of area" sale isn't it? i.e. equipment sold into Asia (?) is being onward shipped to Europe/UK by GlobalMediaPro - you may find Sony UK won't touch it under warranty, and you have to ship it back to GlobalMediaPro in Asia for any warranty requirements.
I may be completely off track here, and I apologise if so, but I eventualy l decided to buy elsewhere when I was looking at GMP. Just be careful before you commit.

I'd have a look at Preston's before going to them.

I bought my A1 from Top Teks, it was a better deal than Prestons.

Well, I have dealt with GMP on a few occasions now and have never had a problem.
Delivery has been super quick for me.
However, you will not get a UK warranty for any of the gear as it is sourced from the states. Instead you need to add on a £40 MACK camera insurance deal. Never had to use it so cant comment on how good this is.
I took the plunge as the XL2 at the time was £400 cheaper even with VAT and import duties.
I also picked up 2 Panasonic anamorphic conversion lenses for my 2 DVX100s. £600 each here and a little over £400 from GMP.
If it were a matter of saving £100 or so then I wouldn't bother.
Cheers

They advertise what seems to be a very cheap charger that they indicate will charge v-lock batteries. I've emailed on a couple of occasions asking them to confirm if it will or won't charge v-locks. Never had confirmation, just a link to order one. I'm not going to toss away £60 just to see if it will or not. If they can't offer customer service to a prospective purchaser then you've no chance once you've paid for your goods!

I would advise phoning. Always been very helpful over the phone.
I have had so many e-mails from reputable companies not come back to me. Prestons included and I rate them as the best.
