This may seem like an odd request, but I am looking for a Premiere or After Effects filter that I can apply to my video to make it look like 50 year old black and white film... basically, I want to simulate film grain... what would be cool would be the ability to add the odd hair in the projector (you know what I mean :) too... Anyone know of anything that will allow this ?

You dont say if u r using Mac or PC, but either way try Quicktime 3 or 4 Professional (upgrade from Apple ($30/approx £18), it will give u the effect u want at a fraction of the price of any other plug ins, and allows u 2 export. get in touch if u want more details

Hi David,
I don't like the render times in premire when you add filters. So I use AE4 There are loads of filters of the type you want. But as Fox says, at a price. Aged film is a good one. I think it depends on the lenght of clip. If it's only 5 secs I'de be inclined to filmstip it to photoshop, apply some filters, and hand work, then re-assemble it. That way you get a result that no plug in can give you.

Thanks guys... I am indeed using Windows. I managed to download the demo version of AgedFilm and was very impressed, but not $149 impressed :) I will contact Apple on Monday, and see about QT4...
Thanks for the help
Dave
