Just got one of these to test and....................

On the downside it's a bottom feeder.
Lots of menu based controls
7 Lux (but a nightshot mode for All Saints video making)

One the upside its about £1250inc VAT
The picture looks stunning
It is tiny. You could loose it in a big pocket !

Put it side by side on against an FX1 and it was impressive but obviously not as good.

I would buy one - a fantastic holiday/baby camera but if you turned up to a professional shoot with it they would think you were an Umpa Lumpa.

Only had 1 hour - off to shoot some covert pictures of lepricorns in bright sunshine.

Can you shoot Alan Roberts' resolution chart with both and post copies of the off tape image -- I'm interested to see which actually resolves more detail technically, even if it isn't subjectively as nice.

There's also an interesting review of it in the forums of www.sonyhdvinfo.com

Yep, that would do it. Export a still from NLE, I do this often when investigating lenses, althought for proper analysis I use a sine-wave pattern (BBC TC60) thus avoiding the harmonic distortion of square waves and obviating the need for the Sin(x)/x correction factor.

I have one on order to be delivered next Wednesday.

Can you advise on what accessories are supplied and give any advice on recommended additional accessories which should be considered.

One I am interested is what additional mic is needed to get full DD5.1 surround sound?

John:)
