Cutting to music

How can the edit points of the video easily be located on the beats of the music? Will Premiere 5.1 (or Cooledit pro)
auto-detect music beats on the audio track and mark edit points that can be used to alight video clips on the timeline?

I don't believe any auto-detect is available. However, if the beat is drum-machine solid then you just have to detect the first few beats by scrubbing or by displaying the waveform and looking, and then use the scale of the time-line to work out the rest.
