I realize that this is probably a silly question, but I need to confirm whether it is even possible. If possible I need to know if there is a way to do so without converting to a different format.
I realize the likelyhood of any such program existing is very low, but I would appreciate any help given.
Thanks

Hi
There is a WM9 player for OSX available for download from Microsoft's Mac pages on their website. (And a WM7 player for OS9).
Neither of these allow editing on a Mac, where all video is handled in the QuickTime format.
However there is soon to be a plug-in for QuickTime to allow conversion between the two formats.

At first this will only support exporting QT movies to WMV. Changing WMV to QuickTime won't be available until sometime next year, they say.
There are OSX utilities that can handle 3ivX to MPEG-2/4 conversion which may be of use if you can convert the WMV to 3ivX:
