Hi,
I'm having trouble either downloading or streaming .3gp files to mobile phones.
Is there something special I need to do with the files. They play fine if I transfer them directly from the PC to the mobile but i can't get the files to either download or stream from my wap-page.
Thankful for any input
Niclas

Deploying content is tricky.
We encode video for mobiles but so far have only managed to get them in to some of our phones via data cable.
A video clip sent via email from a Motorola 920 of less than 500k wouldn't download to an NEC313. That was most definately a handset issue and a surprise to the techie at Three UK that sent it too us! We did get the clip into the NEC313 via data cable but the point was the phone WOULD not accept it as an attachment. Sending a 1MB 3gp video to the Motorola was fine via email.
Our direct experience is with the Three UK network - there are snags with video content right now due to handset/network/billing limitations - their content is limited and users are firewalled from the outside world for the time being.
Clips that Three UK either stream or offer as a download have to be encoded on ingest for specific handsets. The server carries several versions of the same video and on demand it streams the one deemed most compatible with the users handset.
We have clients deploying content (3gp/Java/MPEG-4) on pay-per-view to 2.5G networks but haven't got too involved with that ourselves.
Sorry I can't be more helpful.
Gavin
