View Full Version : Digital photos onto video?

Just saw this section and I think it is just in time.

I am going to a wedding and I am taking my Olympus C-990zoom digital camera and I was hoping to find out if I could put the pictures onto video? with music to make them a kind of wedding video?
I have a MiroVideo DC30 plus for out putting the video.

What I would like to know is.

1, Do I have to resize the pictures?
2, Do I have to change their resolutions?
3, They are in Jpeg format, is this OK?
3, How long would you recommend for each picture and how long for each desolve wipe? I was thinking of 10 seconds showing the picture with a five second desolve overlap? = 15 seconds in total each clip.

Any other ideas or thoughts that might help me on my journey?

Thanks.

Colin.

Hi Collin
I use an animation of a wedding album opening up,I then resize my pictures to fit
onto the page. I put my pictures on the overlay track, set the pictures to 5 secs. With
a half second dissolve at both ends. I think you will find this will cut to any slow wedding music.
Hope this is of some use.
Mal.

As long as your images are 4:3 ratio they should fit OK on a TV screen without borders.
To do this you can use the Marquee tool in Photoshop or whatever you have and set the fixed ratio to 4:3 and crop the images to that.
If you don't want to bother with that, or can't, then make sure the Maintain Aspect Ratio is turned on otherwise your images will be distorted.
Good luck

I am in the process of copying transparencies to video via the PC. 4:3 ratio is fine but having to trim from 3:2 35mm format is time consuming. If your software supports maintained aspect ratios I would go that route. It will mean black borders.
Possibly stating the obvious but you will lose much less of the image from a landscape original than portrait if you have to go the trimming route.

Thanks everyone for your advice.

Malcolm Whiteley, where or how did you animate the wedding album? did you download it from a website? is it easy to create? it sounds like a good idea and I think it would make the video even better.

Please let me know if it is easy or hard to make one?

I am using Premier 5.01c so is it possible with this? (it came with the capture card).

Thanks
Colin
