As of today, I am the proud owner of an Olympus 3040z. I've installed Camedia 2.5 (comes with the package), then installed the USB drivers.

In "my computer" I see the camera and in Windows Explorer, I also see the new removable drive. (I http://www.dvdoctor.net/cgi-bin/ubb/smile.gif I can even view the picture (only taken one so far). Therefore, the driver / cable setup / camera are all working.

BUT, the Camedia software won't connect to the camera (I've made sure it is configured via USB)when I click on the camera icon.

Does anyone have any clues ??

Think I might have solved the problem, it would seem that Camedia does not like connecting to a "camera" device, but is OK with disc device (which it can do). So hopefully a happy ending.

However, if someone knows any different, please let me know.

I have a 3030 and use the Camedia software for downloading from it. I open it and click on the camera folder in the lower navigation pane. It opens up "OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA" to reveal "DCIM" then "1000OLYMP" which is the camera. Then I can see the pictures in the camera and download all or selected pictures. The printing routine is good, if slow, it does a nice job of a photo album, far better than Photo Shop/Paint Shop does. I use it a lot and am happy with it.
