I run a P III 700 on a Soyo MB. I have my Premiere 6 running under Win 2000 on a 20Gig 740rpm HD and I store my video files on a similar 30Gig drive. I also have a DVRaptor card. I have updated the drivers for Premiere 6 for the Raptor.

My problem is that when I render my footage nine out of ten times the Premiere hangs as the rendering stops just a few frames from completion. This is on both small and middleing renders. Can someone save my sanity before I am carted off to the Funny Farm.

Drew,

The instructions for setting up Prem 6 on Raptor are quite clear - uninstall the Raptor drivers and then install the new (Adobe certified)Premiere 6-compatible version.

Naturally, you would have to have Premiere 6 installed BEFORE install the Premiere 6-compatible Raptor drivers.

Did you do all that?

there is a rumour on the canopus forums that the certified P6 drivers for the Raptor are in fact the Beta 3 version rahter than the Beta 8 version which they got upto
and i know there are a lot of raptor users that continue to use Beta 8 rahter than the certified version.Incidentialy rendering problems that existed in beta 3 were fixed in later versions but exist in the certified
version hence where this rumour originally came from
You could ask someone on the canopus forum for someone to give you the FTP address if you find the that after following Bobs advice you still have problems http://www.canopuscorp.com

Putting everthing together and with additional info received I think the problem is resolved. But for other sufferers.

THE ANSWER
Install Service pack 2 and download the beta 8 version from the Canopus web site.
