I haven't even got as far as trying Avid Cinema, I thought I'd test my capture. I seem to get fairly good capture, the file ends up big enough and I can go to individual frames within the footage, but when I playback with the Marvel PCV Remote the file is only registered as one second long. It skips through the whole footage in that time. I've been to various FAQ sites and gone through this, checked my settings and tried various configurations. No luck so....Help.

I must admit I did things the other way round, using Avid first (to do all including capture) and didnt bother with the Matrox remote stuff. I read your post and tried it and it all seemed to work with a file of about 800Meg. This of course is not a lot of use to you:)
Why dont you try Avid to see if you have the same problem? You could try to import into Avid with your existing files. Or try playing back using Windows Media Player. That might at least tie down whether it is a record or a playback problem.

Hi
Have you tried testing the video in using the matrox quick connect program?

Also I would recommend trying avid to do the capture as suggested by pete...if you are going to use avid to do the editing this also removes the need for avid to convert the avi captured using pcv remote into an avid file...a large time saving!!

I use PC Remote all the time and have had no problems at all, have you tried running it from Explorer (ie Media player). If this works fine there is never any harm in reinstalling your drivers and software. If all else fails why not try the matrox users site (http://www.matroxusers.com) it's very good and run completely by users.

Good luck getting it working...
