I've posted this once but it seems to have disappeared. So apologies if it appears twice.
There was a question on the forum on where to put editing software and temp. files. I have always accepted that to avoid interference with the video data flow, the temp. files and editing software should go on the boot drive on a system with both a boot drive and dedicated AV drive, such as my own.
However, two answers appeared, one suggested that edit software should go on the boot drive and temp. files on the AV drive. The second answer suggested that all, that is edit software and temp. files, should go on the AV drive.
So what offers the fastest response to maintain the video data flow on output to final tape (ie. from the timeline)? Where do others put their edit software and temp. files......and why?
